  1. questionAre all ASEPCO valves welded via a full penetration fusion method?
Yes, all valve bodies are welded via Full Penetration Fusion Welding and are dye penetrate tested to ensure flawless joining of component parts. All welds are I.D. ground smooth to the final surface finish specifications.
  2. questionAre ASEPCO valves "U" stamped?
No, ASEPCO valves are not "U" stamped.A "U" Stamp is used under ASME Section VIII for pressure vessels. A "U" stamp is not required for valves.
  3. questionAre the flush tank valves vacuum rated? To what vacuum level?
Our valves are not intentionally designed for vacuum rated service. However, they are regularly tested to -0.8 bar with no problems. They have also been tested to -1 bar with no problems.
  4. questionAre your valves FDA approved?
The FDA does not approve valves. FDA lists acceptable materials in 21 CFR 177. ASEPCO diaphragm valves comply with this standard.
  5. questionAt what vertical location can a port be on an ASEPCO valve body?
All valve bodies can have smaller ports in three locations depending on mounting position and use. Of course, if the port is the same size as the outlet, the opening will be the same dimension as the valve chamber. Flush seat = top Center line = middle Flush diaphragm = bottom
  6. questionCan I autoclave my ASEPCO valve?
Yes, all valve bodies are autoclavable.
  7. questionCan we steam sterilize through the valve from the valve outlet and out the CIP port (instead of going in the CIP port and out the outlet of the valve)?
Yes, you can CIP/SIP from the outlet and out the secondary port or from the secondary port and out the outlet.
  8. questionCan you use a satellite valve coupled to a tank bottom valve to take samples from the tank without opening the tank bottom valve?
No, the satellite valve can not be used to take samples with the primary tank valve closed. The satellite valve is generally used to SIP or CIP the I.D. of the primary tank valve when the primary tank valve is closed.
  9. questionDo Asepco valves meet PED 97/23/EC 32 > Module H?
Yes, we meet the requirements of Module H of the PED.
  10. questionDo I need to have continuous steam on an ASEPCO valve for sterility?
ASEPCO diaphragms are designed for SIP applications but NOT for continuous steam exposure.
  11. questionDo you ep your valves? If you do, how do we prevent 'orange peel' when electropolishing vessels with your valves attached?
We do electropolish (EP) and passivate our valves prior to shippingThe 'orange peel' is a common issue in the industry. After discussing this with our electropolisher, we came to the conclusion that the best choice is to mask the valve when the vessel is EP'd.www.echosupply.com is a good source ...
  12. questionDo you have 5" valve?
No. Currently our largest valve is 4".
  13. questionDo you have a table of the valve chamber and port volume for each of the bottom valve sizes?
    The following table shows the internal volume of our standard valves with a 1.25" straight fitting and the diaphragm installed. VALVE SIZECU. IN. LITER 0.5" 2.21 0.04 1" 11.76 0.19 1.5" 29.96 0.49 2" 37.2 0.61 3" 88.78 1.46 4" 187.44 3.07
  14. questionDo you have documentation for electropolishing valves?
Yes, we can provide a general Certificate of Conformance (C of C) that a valve has been electropolished. If you have a valve and you need a copy of the C of C, just tell us the serial number of the valve and we can send you the C of C.
  15. questionDo you have flow curves for your valves?
Below are files for valve flow curves
  16. questionDo you have metric versions of your valves?
Our valves are based on U.S. units. The fittings/tubing welded to the body are based on the dimensions given in the ASME BPE Table DT-1.We can use metric fittings with an adapter piece welded between the valve and the metric fitting.
  17. questionDo you make a ported inline valve?
Yes, we make a ported inline valve.
  18. questionDo your material certs list the Ferrite content?
No, the Ferrite content does not come with material certification, the material would need to be tested or a calculation can be done using the chemical content of the material.
  19. questionDoes ASEPCO electropolish/passivate their valves?
Yes, all valve bodies are electropolished and passivated to prior to shipping to provide a clean, smooth and corrosion resistant surface.
  20. questionDoes ASEPCO have a recommended cleaning process for valves?
We do not have a cleaning procedure for our valves. Each customer has a unique process and cleaning procedure. The valve is designed to be cleaned-in-place (CIP). If your cleaning process is able to get your vessel clean, it will most likely clean the valve as well.
